On Thursday, June 29, over 35 guests gathered at the Hanover Inn to attend the 2023 Pinnacle Society luncheon. Hosted by Joanne Conroy, MD, D’77, CEO and President of Dartmouth Health, the luncheon offered attendees a chance to connect with one another over a delicious lunch and listen to a thought-provoking discussion on advancing the art and science of nursing care.

Susan Reeves, EdD, RN, CENP, moderated the discussion with a panel of nurses, including Ellen Flaherty, PhD, APRN, AGSF, Daisy Goodman, DNP, MPH, CNM, CARNAP, and Justin B. Montgomery, DNP, APRN. The topics discussed included the importance of interprofessional care teams, how nurses are trained to provide compassionate care in stressful situations, and how nurses analyze societal barriers impacting the care that patients may receive. Their conversation showcased firsthand how critical of a role nurses play in our healthcare system, not only providing exceptional care, but also pushing medicine to new heights through education, continuing education, and research.
